THE LOAN of the Helensburgh and Gareloch Unionist Association First World War roll of honour from Helensburgh Heritage Trust to the Mackintosh Club was formally made on Friday April 7 2017.

Roll-of-honour-wThis is a replica as the original, which now belongs to Argyll & Bute Council, is in poor condition because the materials used reacted badly with one another. The council had a scan made of the original.

The original would almost certainly have been on display in what is now the Mackintosh Club and what was previously the local Conservative and Unionist Association club.

Councillor Maurice Corry MSP, who organised the framing of the replica roll of honour and then presented it to the Heritage Trust, was unable to be present.

Pictured from left are Bruce Jamieson of the Mackintosh Club, Stewart Noble of the Heritage Trust, Barbara Morgan of the Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party, Pat McCann of Argyll & Bute Council, and Nicola Jamieson of the Mackintosh Club. The roll of honour can be seen on the wall.
