Welcome

After saying this he breathed on them and said: "Receive the Holy Spirit." (John 20;22)

James Tissot, 1886-94, Brooklyn Museum

When Pentecost day came round, the apostles had all met in one room... and something appeared to them that seemed like tongues of fire. These separated and came to rest on the head of each of them.

(Acts 2; 1-3)

We pray for a fresh out-pouring of the Holy Spirit

on all of us at Pentecost.

We pray with thanksgiving for all who received their

First Holy Communion last Saturday.

Many thanks to teachers, parents and all who helped prepare for this most special day.

Bishops of Scotland with Archbishop Miguel Maury Buendía,

Apostolic Nuncio to Great Britain

Pastoral Letter of the Bishops of Scotland on the 'Assisted Dying' Private Member's Bill.

The Bishops advise us to think carefully about this.

They distinguish correctly between 'assisted dying' which is palliative care, and assisted suicide or killing which is advocated in the Bill.
