1948-Hermitage-Form-w

A FORMER Helensburgh schoolboy, now in his early 80s and living in Southampton, has appealed to Helensburgh Heritage Trust for help in his quest to find any other family members.

Patrick Alexander Baird wrote: "I have lost all contact with my family for 60 years plus. My parents passed away when I was young and I have no contact with any family members since I was a teenager.

"I would love to know if I have any relatives, as I have tried so many times to make contact. I have nobody I can relate to from that era."

Patrick is a first cousin of Leo Capaldi, who is in the picture above which was supplied by Trust director Jenny Sanders and has been in the website photo gallery for several years.

It shows the fifth form pupils at Hermitage School in June 1948.

The boys are John Gorrie, Donald Ross, Archie MacPherson, Robin Wright, Leo Capaldi, Ian Cowie, Ian Bulloch, Jack Revie; the girls are Cecilia Renwick, Jessie Ronald, Elspeth McArhur, teacher Miss Mosen, Eleanor Williamson, June James, Jenny Burgess.
