West-Highland-Line-book-wA NEW book about the iconic West Highland Railway Line has just been published.

‘Great Railway Journeys Through Time — West Highland Line’, by John McGregor, contains many old pictures of stations on the line which passed through Craigendoran, Helensburgh Upper, Garelochhead, and Arrochar and Tarbet.

These include a 1955 picture of Craigendoran Station and Pier in its heyday, a 1952 image of a Glasgow to Mallaig train at Garelochead, and one of the now defunct Shandon Station.

The book is published by Amberley Publishing at £14.99.
