    The Gareloch One Design Class of yachts is very much part of Helensburgh's heritage. Sixteen yachts built by McGruers in 1924 are all still here on the Gareloch — after an interesting history. Their story and much more is available on this class website.

    The 2008 and subsequent annual Helensburgh and Lomond Highland Games were born out of the Helensburgh Gala Day held in 2007. The organisers of the Bi-Centenary Pipe Band and Highland Dancing Competitions joined with Helensburgh Highland Games to make a weekend Highland Festival.

    Craighelen Lawn Tennis and Squash Club provides tennis, squash, and racketball in a busy and friendly clubhouse setting, including a bar, big-screen TV and pool table.

    Cardross Lawn Tennis Club was established in 1951 and offers three all weather courts, two with floodlights. The club has a friendly atmosphere, and offers an extensive coaching programme for adults and juniors. Tennis at the club is organised on a relatively informal basis.

    The Royal Northern and Clyde Yacht Club at Rhu is a club with a fantastic heritage but with a modern outlook. Iit can trace its origins back to 1824 and today is one of the largest, most active and successful yacht clubs in the country. Its mission is to encourage and support sailing and a wide range of water-based activities, and to provide and maintain a suitable clubhouse and associated facilities for the sporting, recreational and social use of its members.

    Cove Sailing Club is the home of the Loch Long One Design, a wooden keel boat built for racing along the shores of the Loch. The club extends a warm welcome to all, sailors and non-sailors alike and is always looking to accept new members. The club hosts at least twice weekly race meetings during the summer season.

    Web Link Colgrain Bowling Club

    This popular club plays in Gareloch Bowling Association and Dunbartonshire Bowling Association competitions. A Special General Meeting was held in the Temperance Hall in West Princes Street on January 18 1951 to form the club, at which 31 bowlers from the 'Council Green' in Hermitage Park were present. The chairman of the meeting, Mr D.McLeish, called for the disbanding of Hermitage Bowling Club and the formation of Colgrain Bowling Club. This was unanimously agreed and Colgrain Bowling Club became a fully constituted club.

    Cardross Curling Club was founded in 1863 and admitted to the Royal Caledonian Curling Club in 1864. The club currently has around 30 members and plays most of its games at Greenacres. It belongs to the RCCC 10th (Dunbartonshire) Province (Area 4) .

    Helensburgh Hockey Club was founded in the 1970s. The club has three mens teams and a good amount of keen juniors. Training and games takes place on the Hermitage Academy astro pitches.
